Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to enhance the size and shape of the breasts using implants. It is one of the most popular aesthetic surgeries worldwide, helping patients achieve fuller, more balanced breasts and improved body proportions. The procedure can also restore volume lost after weight reduction, pregnancy, or aging.
What is important to know...
01
First Consultation
During the first consultation, the surgeon will evaluate your health, discuss your goals, and explain the available options. You'll talk about the desired breast size, shape, and the type of implant best suited for your body and expectations.
03
Incision / Scar
There are several scars used in breast augmentation: under the breast fold (inframammary), around the lower edge of the areola (periareolar), or in the armpit (transaxillary, our preference). The choice depends on your anatomy, implant type, and surgeon’s recommendation.
05
Silicone Implants
Implants vary in surface texture (smooth, nano or textured), gel consistency (soft, cohesive, or "gummy bear" gel, ergonomic), and shape (round or anatomical/teardrop). The choice is based on your anatomy and aesthetic goals.
02
Anesthesia
Breast augmentation is typically performed under safe, well-controlled general anesthesia, ensuring you're fully asleep and pain-free and comfort during the procedure. In some select cases, local anesthesia with sedation might be used.
04
Implant Placement
Implants can be placed under the chest muscle (submuscular) or above it, directly behind the breast tissue (subglandular), or under the muscular fascia (subfascial). Subfascia placement often offers a more comfort, painless and natural result if you have an adequate anatomy.
06
Postoperative Care
After surgery, you’ll need to wear a surgical bra and avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks. Swelling and mild discomfort are normal and typically improve with time. Follow-up appointments are essential to monitor your recovery and ensure the best possible results.
